On a crisp autumn weekend morning, I headed to Seoul Grand Park for a bit of trekking.
Getting there is easy — just take Line 4 to Daegongwon Station and come out of Exit 2, and you’ll find yourself right at the park entrance.
The Elephant Train
At the ticket booth, I bought a pass for the Elephant Train
There’s also a Sky Pass that includes the zoo, the sky lift, and the train, but since my plan was mostly trekking, I kept it simple and just got the train ticket.
After purchasing the ticket, I went up the stairs on the right to reach the boarding platform.
The line looked long at first, but it moved quickly. Soon, the blue-and-gray Elephant Train with its distinctive trunk-shaped front rolled in.
The seats are arranged like a small train, with three to four people sitting across from each other. As the train began moving, I enjoyed the cool breeze and the green scenery outside the window — it was a refreshing ride.
Walking Around the Park
Many families with kids got off at the zoo stop, while new passengers boarded. I got off near Seoulland, where the amusement park is located. Surprisingly, it wasn’t too crowded — a good time if you want to enjoy the rides without long waits.
From there, I continued on foot, following the walking trail around the park and the zoo. Along the way, I passed themed gardens and even a rose garden, making the stroll all the more pleasant.
The Elephant Train made it easy to enjoy the park without rushing, and the walking trail gave me plenty of fresh air and beautiful views under the autumn sky. Seoul Grand Park isn’t just about the zoo or the amusement park — it’s also a great place for a leisurely ride and a peaceful walk.
