Relaxing in Yesan: A Family-Friendly Hot Spring Escape at Spa View Hotel

Yesan in South Chungcheong Province is full of great places to explore — from scenic spots like the Yesan Suspension Bridge, Sudeoksa Temple, and Chusa House to the local food market that’s known for tasty street snacks. This time, I spent a night at Spa View Hotel in the Deoksan Hot Spring area. It's just a 3-minute drive from the popular Resort, Resom Spa Castle, so it's a great option for those looking for nearby accommodation.

It’s a hotel that seems to be designed with families in mind. Let me walk you through it, space by space.

Entrance & Lobby

As you pull into the hotel, you can’t miss the giant character statues and a mini Eiffel Tower model by the entrance — clearly a fun touch for families with kids. There's also a peaceful park nearby that’s perfect for a quiet walk or just some fresh air.

Parking was super easy. There’s plenty of space in front of the hotel, on the side lot, and even along the road — great for groups too.

The lobby is on the first floor. Check-in was smooth and the staff were kind. The overall vibe is modern and clean, making it easy to feel at ease. There aren't any convenience stores right next door, but you can drive about 2–3 minutes to reach one. I recommend picking up anything you need ahead of time.

Deluxe Twin Room

I booked the Deluxe Twin Room, which came with a single and a double bed — ideal for a small family. The beds were neatly made, and the linens felt fresh and well-kept. The mattress wasn’t overly soft, which I personally liked (especially if you have a sensitive back).

The room had all the basics: a mini fridge, electric kettle, phone charger, and even a desktop computer — which is unusual for most hotels and would come in handy for business travelers.

When I pulled back the curtains, there was a view of the park right outside. The wide-open sky and greenery were just what I needed to relax and forget the stress of city life for a while.

In-Room Bathroom

The bathroom had a sink, toilet, and a whirlpool tub — and it was cleaner and more spacious than I expected. The best part? Germanium hot spring water runs directly into the tub! So you can enjoy a full-on hot spring experience right in your room.

I added some body wash and filled up the tub — it worked perfectly and felt incredibly soothing. The tub is large enough to fit two adults comfortably. There’s no bath foam provided, so I’d suggest bringing your own if you enjoy a bubbly soak.

Pool Area

Just across from the hotel is a swimming pool, which I found out used to be a convention hall. Now it’s been converted into a guest-only pool — and access is free for hotel guests. We visited on a weekday, so we had the entire pool to ourselves. It honestly felt like a private villa experience.

The water level only came up to about the waist for adults, making it safe and fun for kids. We brought our own swimsuits and floaties, but life vests, towels, and mats are available to rent from the hotel if needed.

Park & Kid’s Play Area

Right outside the hotel is a cute little park with benches — great for chatting or just sitting and taking in the calm vibe. There were fun decorations like a big balloon stork and a bunny statue, which kids would love.

On one side of the hotel, there’s a trampoline ("bangbang-i" in Korean), a small playground, and even some bicycles available. We didn’t get to try them because the area was closed off at the time, but it was clear that the hotel is equipped for families.

Night Views

At night, the hotel and the park light up with soft, ambient lighting. It was the perfect way to end the day — calm, quiet, and beautiful for a short walk before bed. A nice escape from the busyness of everyday life.

This hotel may not be flashy like a big resort, but it offers genuine relaxation. The germanium hot spring tub really helped me reset and unwind. If you’re looking for a peaceful break or a spot where your family can enjoy both rest and play, I highly recommend Spa View Hotel.

If you’re planning a trip to Yesan, I’d suggest sightseeing during the day and unwinding here in the evening — it’s a combo that worked really well for us.
