Located in Chungcheongnam-do, Yesan’s Yedang Lake is one of Korea’s largest reservoirs, formed where the Muhancheon and Sapgyocheon streams meet. It’s so vast that you can actually see the horizon from its shores—almost like standing by the sea.
A Massive Bridge Over a Sea-like Lake
Stretching across this massive body of water is the Yedangho Suspension Bridge, a landmark in itself. At 402 meters long and 64 meters high, it’s the longest suspension bridge in Korea crossing over a reservoir. More than just a walkway, it’s a unique experience.
Wide-Open Views by Day, Light Shows by Night
During the day, walking across the bridge offers sweeping views of Yedang Lake, nearby hills, and the distant mountains. The walkway is 5 meters wide, making it perfect for walking with friends or family. You’ll feel a gentle sway in the wind—maybe a little scary at first, but it quickly turns into part of the fun.
Midway across, a spiral staircase leads to a lookout tower. From the top, you can enjoy a full panoramic view of the lake.
At night, the atmosphere changes entirely. The bridge lights up with colorful LEDs, while fountain shows and laser displays create a dreamlike scene. The music fountain stretches 96 meters long and shoots water up to 110 meters high, making it one of the largest of its kind installed over water in Korea. Watching the lights and water dance together is truly breathtaking.
Great for Camping or a Relaxing Picnic
A Scenic Ride on the Yedang Lake Monorail
For a broader view of the area, hop on the Yedang Lake Monorail. It runs 1.3 kilometers through forested hills, offering a relaxing ride with views of the bridge, lake, and sculpture park. The slow pace and gentle inclines make it feel a bit like riding a mountain tram somewhere abroad—laid-back but memorable.
