Looking for a quick weekend getaway close to Seoul? I recently stayed at SkyTop Hotel on Yeongjong Island, and it was a pleasant and refreshing experience. With fewer crowds around Incheon Airport these days, the area feels calm and relaxed — perfect for a short break.
Modern Surroundings and a Simple Check-In
SkyTop Hotel is located in a newly developed part of Yeongjong Island. The building itself is a mix of officetels and hotel rooms — the lower floors are residential, while the upper floors are used as guest accommodations.
Parking was available underground, and check-in was fully self-service through a kiosk on the ground floor. It was quick and straightforward. After entering some basic information, the machine issued a room key and receipt without needing to speak to anyone.

A Room That Feels Like a Compact Studio
My room was on the 18th floor, and the layout felt more like a small studio apartment than a typical hotel room — but in a good way. It included a comfortable bed, a washing machine, a sink, an induction cooktop, and a TV.
While the kitchen setup looked complete, there weren’t any pots, pans, or utensils, so I didn't attempt to cook. Instead, I just used the electric kettle in the morning to make a cup of coffee and some instant noodles.
One thoughtful feature was the sink placed outside the bathroom, which made it easy to wash hands or freshen up without waiting.
Details That Made the Space Feel Practical
The room had plenty of storage and useful furniture:
- A mirrored shoe cabinet by the entrance
- A closet with built-in lighting (which at first looked like a clothing steamer)
- A second wardrobe that surprisingly housed the boiler system
- A foldable table (though I didn’t use it due to space constraints)
- A drying rack for clothes or towels
The refrigerator was bigger than expected and perfect for keeping drinks cool. Overall, the room felt compact but very functional.
Quiet Balcony with a Great View
One of the highlights was the private balcony. It came with a small table and bench — slightly dusty but easy to clean off with a wet tissue.
The view was lovely: you could see Unseo Station straight ahead, bridges stretching on either side, and even a glimpse of the ocean in the distance. The nighttime city lights added a cozy, peaceful vibe.

Overall Impression
What I enjoyed:
- Clean, modern interior
- Self check-in made things simple
- Easy access to transportation and local spots
- Scenic views from the balcony
What to be aware of:
- No front desk — everything is unmanned
- More like a small studio than a typical hotel room
- No bathtub in the bathroom
If you're looking for a low-key place to rest near the airport — something clean, quiet, and convenient — SkyTop Hotel is a great option to keep in mind.
